Meeting some co-workers for some eats and chatter at a local sportsbar. It's nice to visit with people you work with daily in a non formal atmosphere. Looks like a need a newer digital camera...or were the participants intentionally blurred to protect thier identities...LOL

Today I was able to meet Hiesman Trophy winner, and Husker football legend Mike Rozier. A fellow officer approached Rozier after I pointed him out and told him that I was a huge fan and would like to say hello. I was nervous, after all this was "Michael Heisman" as he was dubbed by team mate Irving Fryar during the 1983 season. To meet one of the greatest college football running backs of all time, and that I follwed as a teenager was an enourmous thrill!

In his senior season with Nebraska he was awarded the Heisman Trophy, given to the best individual player in college football. His first professional experience was with the Pittsburg Maullers of the USFL. When the Maulers and eventually the USFL as a whole folded, Rozier was free to pursue a career in the NFL, which he did, primarily with the Houston Oilers.

In 8 seasons in the NFL, Rozier rushed for 4462 yards and 30 touchdowns. His best season came in 1988 with Houston when he rushed for 1002 yards and 10 touchdowns. He was elected to the College Football Hall Of Fame in 2006.

I told Mr. Rozier that today was my birthday and shook his hand. He was very nice and wished me a happy birthday and said "I got something for you". He then pulled out a football card from his briefcase and autographed it for me. The football card was from the Houston Oilers of 1988.

North Korea Threats?....

North Korea is ready to answer a pre-emptive U.S. military attack with an "annihilating strike and a nuclear war," the state-run media said Monday. The Korean Central News Agency, citing an unidentified Rodong Sinmun newspaper "analyst," accused the United States of increasing military pressure on the isolated communist state. I am so tired of being Threatened by these wanna be power mongers...if you want to be a real player in the world step up, but your idol threats can and will be challenged....do not play the end game with the US as a bargining tool!

The Bush administration responded sternly Monday to an annihilation threat from North Korea, saying while it had no intention of attacking, it was determined to protect the United States if North Korea launched a long-range missile.
"Should North Korea take the provocative action of launching a missile the U.S. would respond appropriately, including by taking the necessary measures to protect ourselves," Julie Reside, a State Department spokeswoman, said.

This nation will not be directed by uncontrolled rogue ruled nations!
